About the Opportunity
I’m currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity with a leading national audit, tax, advisory, and consulting firm for a Manager, Audit - Non-Profits in Cheltenham. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a top firm specialising in the charity sector, providing audit services to a high-profile portfolio of not-for-profit clients.
As a Manager in the Audit team, you will be responsible for managing a variety of clients in the charity and not-for-profit sector, ranging from start-ups to well-established household names. The firm’s clients include INGOs, schools, academies, membership organisations, professional bodies, and housing associations, many of which are top 100 charities.
The role will provide you with the opportunity to specialise in the sector, manage a team, and build strong client relationships. If you’re looking for a role that will challenge you and provide excellent career progression within a supportive and dynamic environment, this is the role for you.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage a portfolio of external audit clients, delivering year-round services and building strong client relationships.
2. Oversee audit teams, ensuring work is completed within budget and on time, from planning to completion.
3. Act as the principal contact for clients, delivering proactive services.
4. Take responsibility for managing your workload and client appointments, ensuring timely delivery of projects.
5. Prepare and present reports to senior management and audit committees/boards.
6. Direct, coach, and mentor audit teams to ensure effective delivery of engagements.
7. Engage in business development activities, develop and maintain your network, and participate in proposals and presentations for new work.
8. Participate in team and firm-wide activities, training, and development opportunities.
Candidate Requirements
1. ACA, ICAS, or ACCA qualified.
2. Strong technical knowledge of auditing and accounting standards.
3. Experience in charity audits and the not-for-profit sector, including the Charities SORP (desirable but not essential).
4. Excellent people management skills with the ability to coach and mentor junior colleagues.
5. Strong organisational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
6. A passion for the not-for-profit sector and a desire to specialise within it.
