We are looking for an enthusiastic, resourceful and forward-thinking person and are excited to be recruiting a Support Worker to support individuals within our service in Redruth. About the Role: MR B MR B has been supported by Havencare since 2015, he has 18hrs 1-1 support a week with a flexibility to go to 24hrs, these shifts can range from 09:00 – 15:00 3 days a week, MR B does like flexibility to fit around his plans. MR B is autistic, he lives independently in his own flat, he drives and owns his own car, which he takes great pride of. He needs support reading letters, organising, and paying bills, and generally sorting paperwork. He likes support to make phone calls and speak on his behalf but likes to be involved and listen to the conversations. MR B needs skilled, timely and patient emotional support to focus on his understanding and to manage distress when things don’t go as he expects. MR B has his own flat and requires support with maintaining all areas of his home, prompting with personal hygiene. He makes his own decisions and will plan a week ahead on what he wants to do. He has a good sense of humour and enjoys having a laugh and a joke, playing practical jokes on his support looking for a great response. He requires someone who enjoys his interests Truck and train spotting, photography, General elections, learning about History World War 1 & 2, He enjoys going to truck shows, Vintage Rallies, Royal Cornwall show, traveling, Eurovision song contest, Gaming playing Simulation games and going to the cinema. MR B would like someone a few years older than him in their 30’s. and a driver. They must be Responsible, Reliable, a good listener, understanding, good timekeeping as he doesn’t like people who are late and must inform him if they can’t do a shift. Doesn’t like to be pressured and likes to take things in his own stride.
