The Role
As a Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance tasks, including carpentry, tiling, plumbing, and overseeing contractor work. You will ensure all maintenance activities are completed to a high standard and in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct general property maintenance, including carpentry, tiling, door/window repairs, and more.
* Install and repair gutter and drainpipe systems.
* Perform basic plumbing repairs.
* Source materials from local suppliers and manage contractor work when required.
* Provide support to colleagues, covering absences and offering on-call assistance.
* Ensure compliance with all company policies and health and safety regulations.
* Complete any additional tasks or responsibilities as requested by management.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for a professional with:
* Proficiency in using basic hand tools.
* Expertise in building trades such as carpentry, plastering, or tiling.
* A full, clean UK driving licence.
* Proven experience in a similar role and a basic understanding of current building regulations.
* Strong practical ability, attention to detail, and numeracy skills for measuring and making calculations.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
