Are you a reliable, committed, dynamic, and motivated professional with excellent communication, organisational skills, and the ability to prioritise work?
Blandford Community Mental Health team seeks a Band 6 Community Mental Health Practitioner or a Band 5 looking to gain training, experience, and support, to then move into a Band 6 post on completion. This post offers a great opportunity for newly qualified practitioners or those working in an inpatient setting looking for a change.
As a Mental Health Practitioner, you will provide care delivery which considers people's safety, privacy, and dignity. You will provide interventions, assessments, and treatments, manage patients on a caseload and plan, implement and review health improvement programmes in a range of settings.
You will work within a supportive established integrated multi-disciplinary team. This team is made up of a Psychiatrist, Nurse prescriber, Mental Health Practitioner, Social Workers, OTs, Support Time Recovery Workers and Psychologists.
The Community Mental Health Practitioner role is full-time Monday to Friday and based in Blandford and covers the surrounding villages. You will need to have a valid driving licence and use of a car as you will be required to assess and monitor patients in their own homes and within other community settings.
You will be supported in your clinical work and professional development by an experienced Mental Health Nurse, with ongoing close and supportive supervision from the Team Leader together with an agreed programme of training and development.
Having experience working in a community mental health environment would be useful, but not essential; you will need to be able to apply the philosophies of engagement and recovery within your work with service users.
If undertaking this post as development, please read both job descriptions attached for more information on the role requirements.
We welcome informal discussions and visits. Please contact Sarah Harrison, Team Leader at sarah.harrison73@nhs.net or on 01258 450610.
