Job Advertisement: Year 1 Class Teacher (January - July 2025)
We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 1 Class Teacher to join our team for the period of January to July 2025 (covering two terms). This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated professional to work with our young learners in a supportive and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
* Teaching: Plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons in line with the Year 1 curriculum, ensuring that each child’s development is supported and challenged appropriately.
* Planning and Marking: Take responsibility for general lesson planning and marking, providing constructive feedback to support student progress.
* Parents’ Evenings: Attend parents’ evening sessions, which will be scheduled on an inset day, meaning there will be no requirement to stay late. You will be expected to engage with parents about their child’s progress and development.
* Staff Meetings: Attend staff meetings when necessary, participating in discussions and collaborative planning to enhance school-wide goals and initiatives.
* Teaching Assistant (TA) Support: Work closely with a Teaching Assistant (TA) who will support you in the classroom, ensuring all students receive the help they need for a positive learning experience.
Qualifications:
* Experience: Previous experience teaching in Key Stage 1 (KS1), preferably with Year 1 students. This is essential as the role requires understanding the needs of younger children, particularly in their early years of primary education.
* Planning and Assessment: Ability to plan well-structured lessons and assess student work, giving meaningful feedback to support ongoing development.
* Team Collaboration: A team-oriented approach, contributing positively to staff meetings and collaborative efforts to support student learning.
* Professionalism: We are particularly looking for candidates with experience and a strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) need not apply for this role.
Additional Information:
* PPA (Planning, Preparation, and Assessment) Time: Dedicated PPA time will be provided, ensuring you have adequate time for planning, marking, and preparation for parents' evenings.
* Parent Communication: Parents' evening will be scheduled on an inset day, meaning you will not be required to stay late in the evening.
* TA Support: A Teaching Assistant will be available to assist with classroom management and provide support for students, helping you create a positive and productive learning environment.
If you are an experienced, enthusiastic teacher with a passion for early years education, we would love to hear from you!
