We are seeking an experienced Digital Design Engineer to work with our client, hybrid attendance at Cheadle or Templecombe delivering support to product development and addressing any in service issues. The successful candidate should have experience working on marine sonar or towed array products.
We are looking for an energetic and driven engineer with broad expertise, however of particular interest would be candidates with military and or aerospace experience.

Responsibilities
The Digital Design Engineer will perform, but is not limited to the following type of activities centred on provision of marine outboard hardware related to a towed array:
Developing Analogue & Digital Concepts & Designs
Circuit Design & associated assembly technologies
Integration & Qualification methodology
Design for EMC & Environments
Schematic Capture for PCB Layout
Commissioning and Integration
Creation of PTS/Test Documentation
Creation of Family Tree/Bill of Materials (BoM)
Verification and Validation
Certification/Qualification
Creation of evidence supporting CoD (Certificate of Design)
Qualifications
Degree level qualification in a relevant discipline.
A lower qualification would be acceptable for example HNC/HND should the candidate be able to demonstrate significant demonstrable experience in lieu
Essential skills
Good knowledge of eCAD design tools like Xpedition
Ability to use simulation tools
Good understanding of design for EMC
Designing for test and manufacture
Problem solving across a wide range of technologies / products
Communication, influencing, negotiating
Adaptation / ability to work to specific company process
Experience
Palma/Team Centre
Application of fibre optics
Understanding of high-speed serial data protocols
