Teaching Assistant Support in a Nursery
Location: Horsham
Rate: £26,000-27,000 per year dependant on experience
Type: Full-Time, Long-Term (ASAP)
Are you passionate about supporting young children with Special Educational Needs and Nursery? Do you have the skills to manage behaviour effectively and create a nurturing early years environment? We are looking for a dedicated Nursery Specialist to work in a nursery setting in Horsham, supporting children with SEN as well as the whole class.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact by fostering positive behaviours and helping young learners develop social, emotional, and communication skills in their early years.
Responsibilities:
* Implement and uphold the nursery's behaviour management policies, ensuring a fair and supportive approach.
* Work closely with young children with SEN, using early intervention strategies to support their development.
* Provide one-to-one and small group interventions to encourage positive behaviours and social skills.
* Collaborate with nursery staff, SENCOs, and parents to create individualised behaviour support plans.
* Help develop strategies that enhance the overall nursery environment and promote inclusion.
Minimum Requirements:
* Experience working with young children with SEN in an early years setting.
* A strong understanding of behaviour management techniques for nursery-aged children.
* Level 3 qualification in Childcare (or working towards it) preferred.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with children and staff.
* A calm, patient, and proactive approach to supporting children's emotional and behavioural needs.
