In order to support these activities we are currently seeking a Group Financial Accountant. Role purpose: The Group Financial Accountant will report to the CFO and play a key role in managing the group's financial reporting and accounting. This includes preparing management reporting and financial statements and ensuring compliance with IFRS, AIM-listing rules, and statutory requirements. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional with a strong technical accounting background. Key Responsibilities of Role: Financial Reporting and Accounting Prepare the Group’s interim and annual reports including the consolidated financial statements, in accordance with IFRS, laws and regulations, AIM-listing rules and the QCA code. Stay up to date with any changes in accounting practices and IFRS standards and support their implementation across the Group, including training local and overseas controllers. Managing internal Group accounting policies and ensuring compliance and consistency. Coordinate with the external auditors, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of financial information. Manage local subsidiary statutory reporting requirements and help manage local audits. Prepare relevant accounting workbooks, and be the key contact for external advisors, liaising with them directly. Group Consolidation Oversee the preparation and management of the Group’s consolidation process. Manage intercompany eliminations, consolidation adjustments, and Group-wide reporting. Liaise with local controllers to ensure the accuracy and consistency of financial data across all subsidiaries and business units. Management reporting Support local and overseas financial controllers through month end. Review and challenge the financial information provided. Own and manage the production of the monthly management accounts, including variance analysis, for review by senior management and the Board. Tax Maintain a strong and practical understanding and experience of corporate and deferred tax accounting. Managing the tax provision for the Group, including deferred tax assets. Produce the annual Group tax calculation for the accounts. Share options Maintaining the share option register, updating for leavers, grants and exercises. Process any share option exercises, produce board minutes and relevant documentation, liaise with the Registrar and submit relevant Companies House forms. Account for the Group's share schemes under IFRS2. Systems Maintaining the consolidation functionality within the consolidation system, e.g., maintaining a chart of accounts, cost-centre structures, divisional reporting, and any new entities. On-going monitoring and support of the Group’s financial consolidation system and associated processes to ensure it remains fit for purpose Working with local and overseas controllers to ensure ERP and consolidation system mapping is consistent Other Planning and managing various external and internal financial timetables across the Group. Management of Group internal financial controls and processes. Supporting the provision of information to meet analyst and broker requirements. Provide ad-hoc analysis to assist with strategic and operational decision-making. Undertake other ad hoc duties and tasks as and when required. Support the Finance team with ongoing ad-hoc projects, system implementations, or process improvements as required. Assist with any corporate transactions, such as acquisitions, disposals, or fundraising initiatives, ensuring accurate accounting treatment and reporting. Qualifications and/or experience required to perform the role: Fully qualified ACA/ACCA with previous experience demonstrated in the above areas with at least 2 years PQE, ideally in group financial reporting within a UK-listed company. Solid technical knowledge of IFRS. SAP Business 1 and Hyperion Financial Management experience preferred but not essential. Advanced Microsoft Excel user. You must be able to demonstrate good attention to detail, good judgment showing logical decision making, and a hands-on approach. Team player with a collaborative mindset and can-do attitude. Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders. Office Location This position is based in our Global Head Office, situated on the Oxford Science Park which is easily accessible via all modes of transport.
