Operations Manager Speech, Language and Communication Pathway

Children and Family Health Devon (CFHD) is continuing to develop and refine an innovative, integrated model of children's community services and are looking for an enthusiastic individual to operationally lead our Speech and Language and Communication pathway with a focus on early intervention and support.
This role is 22.5 hrs a week (0.6WTE) across Devon and Torbay (excluding Plymouth) with bases available in Exeter, North & South Devon and Torbay. You will want to be on site with your team for some of the time, however we can support some remote working as part of your job plan.
Main duties of the job
Working alongside the clinical and medical leads for the service, you will be supported to bring your operational skills, experience and enthusiasm to this role. You will supervise and manage others, ensuring the service responds in a timely way to meet the needs of children, young people and families. As Operations Lead for this pathway you will work closely with colleagues in CFHD but also colleagues from the acute trusts in across Devon and Torbay who medically support the children seen within the pathway.

Job responsibilities
To provide leadership to the integrated CFHD service ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of the service. The post holder will manage effective operational delivery of services in collaboration with clinical leads. As an integral part of the CFHD leadership team, proactively and collaboratively driving the overall service strategy, objectives, vision and ambitions and taking a lead role in transformational change and continuous service improvement.
Person Specification
Qualifications and training
* Professional clinical knowledge acquired through degree supplemented by post graduate diploma specialist training, management qualification or equivalent and experience
* A professional qualification relevant to children's healthcare (such as Social Work, Nursing, Clinical Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Psychological Therapy Qualification, Speech and Language Therapy, Physiotherapy.)
* Active registration with an appropriate professional body
Knowledge and experience
* Extensive knowledge of the provision of healthcare for children and families within the NHS
* Understanding of relevant legislation, NHS policy and other national policy relating to children and young people and its implications for children's community healthcare
* High level knowledge of health presentations in children and adolescents and the theory and practice of clinical interventions within area of specialty
* Knowledge of evidence-based practice including NICE guidelines and routine outcome monitoring
* Knowledge of risk management and ability to monitor and assess risk and act accordingly to ensure safety
* Knowledge of supervision, management and leadership practice, including electronic staff record systems
* Knowledge of research methodology outcome research methodology and ability to critically interpret research findings and data
