Role: Welder Fabricator
Shifts: 2 Weeks of Monday to Friday 7am – 4pm, 1 Week of Monday to Friday 2pm – 10pm, 1 Week of Monday to Thursday 6pm – 3am
Salary: £39,000 to £40,000 per annum + Benefits
Location: Near Humberside Airport - Commutable from Grimsby, Barton-upon-Humber, Brigg, Scunthorpe, Doncaster, Immingham, Market Rasen, Gainsborough and surrounding areas
The Opportunity
This successful heavy plant manufacturing company offer challenging and rewarding careers for their large team of Welder Fabricators & Mechanical Fitters. Through continued growth they are now seeking a Welder Fabricator with some experience of mechanical fitting to join the team providing Planned Preventative Maintenance and responding to breakdowns. Alternatively, a Mechanical Fitter who has completed their Apprenticeship would also be highly suitable!
Responsibilities
Along with planned & reactive maintenance, the Welder Fabricator will work as part of the Mechanical Shift, having the opportunity to undertake PPM’s, react to breakdowns, complete projects and improvement work to both plant machinery & building infrastructure, across this large & highly automated production facility.
Requiring a proactive approach and good attention to detail, the Welder Fabricator must have good understanding of Health, Safety & Environmental, ensuring work is completed in accordance with the CMMS & the companies EH&S guidelines.
Skills & Experience
Good welding (MIG / Stick), Fabrication & some knowledge of Mechanical Maintenance ideally including some of the following: Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Chains, Bearings, Shafts, Seals, Motors etc
Good troubleshooting & diagnostics skills
Experience of mechanical equipment inspections & jobs issued via the CMMS schedule
Maintain & update files/records using the CMMS system
Ensure spares are kept to optimum levels and spares used in PPM or repairs are recorded to enable Stores inventory to be updated accurately
Ideally a formal qualification in Welding, fabrication or Mechanical Engineering
Good ability to read technical drawings
Able to Work at Height and in Confined Spaces with relevant training provided
Computer literate, with a good working knowledge of MS office packages
Good communication and team skills
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work on own initiative with minimum supervision
