We are seeking an experienced and proactive Production Planner to join a rapidly expanding manufacturing company based in Gloucester. This is a key role where you will optimise production schedules, streamline operations, and ensure the seamless delivery of customer orders. Reporting to the Head of Operations, you'll work in a supportive and collaborative team environment at a state-of-the-art facility.
As Production Planner, you will be responsible for:
1. Developing and executing production schedules to optimise resource use and ensure on-time deliveries.
2. Collaborating with procurement and logistics to guarantee all parts are available before production.
3. Overseeing logistics operations, including transport and outbound carriage costs.
4. Supporting the introduction of new products into production alongside the New Product Development team.
5. Managing and developing the Production Administrator and any future team members.
6. Monitoring performance metrics, identifying risks, and resolving bottlenecks to maintain efficiency.
7. Implementing continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean methodologies and line balancing.
Requirements:
1. At least 5 years of experience in production planning or scheduling within a manufacturing environment.
2. Proven track record in managing production schedules, resource optimisation, and meeting delivery targets.
3. Strong analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
4. Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and advanced Excel skills.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively across teams.
6. Experience in continuous improvement practices, demand forecasting, and capacity planning.
7. Leadership skills with experience managing and developing small teams.
