An opportunity has arisen to join the South Gwynedd Older Person’s Mental Health Team for a healthcare support worker, to support older people living in the community with memory difficulties.
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated band healthcare support worker to work with us in the South Gwynedd older person’s mental health team. The successful applicant will be willing to work flexibly between day services and community outreach, passionate about improving services for people with dementia. You will assist registered nurses/practitioners to deliver care to service users, working in partnership with other health care professionals, the service user, their family and carers, to support people in their community.
This is a part time – hours a week, permanent contract, based in Uned Meirion, Ysbyty Dolgellau.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will help facilitate the smooth running of the day unit, which provides day services to individuals with dementia.
The post holder will work occasionally without direct supervision in the community, however, will have telephone access to an identified qualified nurse for advice and guidance if undertaking outreach work.
The post holder will promote and hold a positive attitude to dementia care and ensure that individual needs for privacy, respect, dignity and confidentiality is maintained at all times.
The post holder carries out assigned tasks involving direct care to those who have memory difficulties as directed by the Qualified Nurse.
