The NHS Sussex medicines optimisation team provide system leadership and oversight to ensure workstream delivery of the Sussex Medicines Optimisation strategy for the following priority areas:
1. Improving medicines use and value
2. Ensuring medicines safety and quality
3. Improving medicines integration and interfaces of care
4. Developing the Pharmacy workforce and ways of working
5. Support medicines optimisation data and digital technology transformation
6. Ensuring medicines sustainability and productivity
Main duties of the job
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced pharmacistleader who is interested in a role that supports the delivery of Medicines Useand Value, sustainability and productivity
and data and digital transformation priorities across ICS.The postholder will provide leadership to:
Regional medicines optimisation programmes
Provide expertise and advice for cost effectiveand evidenced base use of medicines in design and transformation of treatmentpathways.
Work in collaboration with specialists tooversee the standardisation of medicines use across pathways and supportimplementation across the ICS.
Provide expertise and advice for serviceplanning and contracting for standardised treatment pathways.
Support work on reducing health inequalities inoutcomes and access to medicines.
The post holder will need to build and maintain a broadrange of relationships at all levels of the system with a particular focus on integrated working and use ofpopulation health management approaches to improve access, experience, andoutcomes from medicines.
The post holder will be expected to work with a high degree of autonomy, accountability, and report directly to the Head of Medicines Governance and Value.

23. Registered with General Pharmaceutical Council.
24. Extensive knowledge of specialist areas, acquired through post graduate diploma or equivalent experience or training plus further specialist knowledge or experience to masters level equivalent.
25. Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development
26. Must understand the background to and aims of current healthcare policy and appreciate the implications of this on engagement.
27. Should have an appreciation of the relationship between the NHS England, individual provider, and commissioning organisations.
