Job purpose: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Board-Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) tojoin our school. The BCBA will be responsible for supporting the ABA supervisors and class leads inconducting assessments, developing skill acquisition programs, developing individualised behaviourreduction plans and providing behavioural skills training and support to staff and families. The goal is toimprove the communication, play, leisure, social, independence and academic outcomes for our pupils. ABA/VBMake use of principles of Applied Behavioural Analysis and Skinners analysis of Verbal Behavior todevelop effective instruction and maintain evidence based effective interventions. Share this expertisewith other staff.Key Responsibilities:Leadership and Management• Mentor and be first point of contact for a team of 2 ABA Supervisors and 3 ABA Class leads,providing appropriate guidance and supervision.• Play an active role in the termly assessment of Supervisor/Class Lead competencies.• Deliver training as agreed with the Assistant Head for Behaviour and Training.• Provide feedback to Supervisors/Class Leads as appropriate.• Meet regularly with the Assistant Head for Behaviour and Training.• Participate in Annual Reviews as required.Assessments:• Support ABA Class Leads/Supervisors to conduct developmental and functional assessments toidentify appropriate target skills for development.• Support ABA Class Leads/supervisors as necessary to conduct Functional Behaviour Assessments(FBAs) to identify the reasons behind challenging behaviours.• Utilize various assessment tools and techniques to gather data on student behaviour. June 2024 Safe Understanding Patient Enthusiastic Respectful• Assist in the assessment and transition of new pupils as required.Intervention Planning:• Support ABA Class Leads/Supervisor to develop specific learner protocols for teaching skilldevelopment.• Support supervisors and ABA Class Leads to develop and implement Behaviour Reduction Plans(BRPs) tailored to the individual needs of pupils.• Monitor and modify BRPs based on ongoing data collection and analysis.Direct Pupil Support:• Provide one-on-one or small group ABA sessions as needed.• Implement evidence-based interventions to teach replacement behaviours and skill acquisition.Staff Training and Support:• Train and support ABA Supervisors. ABA Class Leads, Teachers, SaLT, OT, and other school staff inthe implementation of skill acquisition programs, and BRPs.• Support the delivery of the school induction programme for new staff.• Provide ongoing supervision (BACB, UKSBA etc.), coaching and professional development oneffective teaching procedures and behaviour management.Data Collection and Analysis:• In conjunction with the Assistant Head for behaviour, collect, analyse, and interpret data to trackprogress and make data-driven decisions.• Prepare detailed reports on pupil progress and intervention outcomes where required.Collaboration and Consultation:• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including teachers, speech therapists, occupationaltherapists.• Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings to provide input on goals andindividualised teaching procedures as required.Family Engagement:• Work with families to provide training and support in generalising skills to the home environment.Compliance and Documentation:• Ensure all services are provided following applicable laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines.• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, intervention plans, progress notes,and other required records.Personal Development• Take responsibility for own professional development.• Practice within own scope of expertise and seek supervision as required.• Continue to remain up to date with the latest research in the field.General• Always maintain the safeguarding and well-being of pupils• Be aware of and comply with all school policies and procedures including those relating to pupilprotection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concernsto an appropriate person.• Demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality, taking responsibility for one’s own health.• Be aware of and ensure that all pupils have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.• Contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the school.• Maintain constructive relationships with staff, parents/carers.• Actively participate in staff meetings and staff training sessions.• Undertake additional tasks as directed by the Headteacher. June 2024 Safe Understanding Patient Enthusiastic RespectfulRequirements : • Master's degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis, Psychology, or a related field.• Current Board Certification as a Behaviour Analyst (BCBA/UKBACert).• Minimum of 5 years of experience working with children with special needs, preferably ina school setting.• Strong experience in the application of behaviour analytic principles and evidence-basedpractices.• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.• Proficiency in data collection and analysis software/tools.• Experience in a special education school environment.• Familiarity with autism and related behavioural challenges.• Training in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques. Physical Requirements: • Ability to work with pupils across a range of ages and abilities, who may exhibit aggressiveor self-injurious behaviours.
