Trainee Sheriff Officer
Salary: Meets Real Living Wage - £23,400
Hours: 37.5 hours per week - Mon - Fri, 8.30am - 5.00pm (flexibility required)
Location: Aberdeenshire (flexibility required)
Stirling Park LLP has exciting opportunities for enthusiastic individuals to join our intensive in-house training programme for Trainee Sheriff Officers.
Trainee Sheriff Officers will be practically trained by being field based working alongside a qualified Sheriff Officer throughout most of the working day and will undertake some basic office duties to include preparing, uplifting and delivering mail on a daily basis.
Successful candidates will undertake a three-year traineeship which includes monthly modules and examinations provided by our internal training manager. Upon passing all monthly examinations, trainees are put forward for a final examination by our governing body and if successful, will become a qualified Sheriff Officer. The role of Sheriff Officer is accompanied by an excellent package including a lucrative salary, company car, pension, and private health insurance.
The duties of a Trainee Sheriff Officer include:
1. Undertaking private study of monthly modules
2. Being prepared and organised for monthly examinations
3. Passing all examinations set by the Stirling Park Academy
4. Assisting Sheriff Officers in making personal, telephone and online enquiries
5. Assisting Sheriff Officers in completing legal documents, writing reports, etc.
6. Supporting office staff in any basic administration duties
7. Being responsible for the preparation of mail as well as uplifting/delivering locally

Benefits:
* 22 days annual leave increasing to 25 days after 5 years, plus 10 public holidays.
Accountability:
The post-holders will report to a Diligence Manager.
Qualifications:
Applicants must hold a minimum of five passes at SCQF level 4 or above, or equivalent, including Maths and English, which must be confirmed within your C.V.
