This test engineer role involves investigating, fault finding and resolving any electrical issues to support the development of new and existing machinery systems. This is a “hands-on” test role where you will be responsible for validation and verification tests, diagnosing issues on the machines and modifying harnesses As an Electrical Test Engineer you will support test packages and support the design teams with suggested changes. To be successful in this position, test engineers will need a broad range of hands-on electrical fault-finding skills to understand and test electrical schematics, power calculations and harness system tests for any part of the machine. Other skills: Test Engineer HNC or degree in electrical engineering, electronics, mechanical engineering, automotive or similar Demonstrate ability to take responsibility for the electrical fault finding and build of electrical subsystems, harness modification and working with design teams to suggest changes Background working on heavy machinery, generators, rolling stock, Oil and Gas or electrical distribution systems Ability to work as part of a large team interacting with engineers internally as well as external suppliers and test facilities Fault tree analysis / FMEA / practical problem solving This role would suit electrical test engineers, technicians, electrical service engineers, validation engineers or military personnel with strong electrical skills.
