The post holder will be responsible for the effective operational management, organization, and delivery of high-quality nursing care, as well as clinical leadership within the Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). In collaboration with the Head of Service, Service Manager, other Clinical Nurse Leads, and the Modern Matron, the post holder is expected to contribute to the development of acute service provision across the CAMHS Pathway and Oxford Health. The role involves providing, maintaining, and developing nursing care to the highest possible standard within the available resources. As the clinical leader, the post holder will offer role modeling, facilitation, and education to the nursing team, including some shift work. Additionally, the post holder will support the provision of 24-hour full and accountable managerial responsibility for the ward. Key responsibilities also include determining and managing the administrative needs of the ward. The post holder will lead efforts to ensure effective joint working with statutory and voluntary agencies to ensure responsive and appropriate service delivery to users and carers. Furthermore, the post holder will represent the service both internally and externally in relation to all these responsibilities. The role involves managing the interface between criminal justice services and the PICU, supporting the direct management of patients through these pathways. The post holder will also ensure that the unit meets the level of security required according to NAPICU standards. Finally, the post holder will manage the unit as an integral part of the acute inpatient pathway within Oxford Health.
