Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Restaurant Manager to oversee the daily operations of our establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for the culinary arts, ensuring that our guests receive exceptional service in a welcoming environment. This role requires a hands-on approach to managing staff, maintaining high standards of food production, and fostering a positive atmosphere for both employees and patrons.
Duties
* Run the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring everything runs smoothly in both the kitchen and the dining area.
* Lead and motivate our kitchen and front-of-house teams to maintain top-quality food and exceptional service.
* Keep the kitchen running efficiently while ensuring we follow food safety and hygiene standards.
* Manage inventory, control food costs, and maintain relationships with our suppliers to ensure we always have the best ingredients for our yakitori dishes.
* Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure we’re serving up the best yakitori and keeping our standards high.
* Create staff schedules and make sure we're always fully staffed during busy times.
* Assist with hiring, training, and developing both kitchen and front-of-house staff.
* Handle any employee concerns, performance reviews, and disciplinary matters with care and professionalism.
* Collaborate with HR to ensure we're following company policies and keeping things in line with local regulations.
* Foster a positive and productive atmosphere, ensuring the team feels valued and motivated.
* Listen to customer feedback and work with the team to constantly improve our service and operations.
Skills
* Experience as a Restaurant Manager, ideally in a yakitori or Japanese restaurant.
* A solid understanding of kitchen operations, especially around grilling and yakitori preparation.
* A strong knowledge of HR processes like recruitment, training, and employee relations.
* Leadership skills to inspire and manage a team.
* Ability to handle the busy environment and stay calm under pressure.
* Great communication skills with both customers and staff.
* A passion for Japanese cuisine and delivering an exceptional dining experience.
* Experience managing budgets and controlling costs.
* HR certification or training is a plus.
