Job Description
What you’ll do
This is an excellent opportunity to enhance your current skill base and join us as a care assistant. For this role you will be supporting a client who would like some companionship and taking out into the community for days out and socialising. There is no clinical support required.
Here at Advantage healthcare we care for and support people of all ages, in the community, and in their homes, with Spinal Cord injury, Muscular dystrophy, acquired brain injuries and many other complex needs. Every day will be different. And you’ll never know what challenges you’re about to face next. One thing you can be sure of though, is that you’ll be making your clients’ days brighter, whilst developing your skills and knowledge.
The client is a young boy who suffers with cerebral palsy and has an acquired brain injury. He requires his medication via peg feed along with the monitoring of his seizures and pain management.
He also needs support regarding his medical appointments and his mobility has he does use a wheelchair in the community.
However, he has a very supportive family who have transformed their home to include an amazing sensory room!
He likes to engage with his team and family members as he is very smiley, having quite a lot of social aspects to this role, whether it be trips to the local park for him to ride his trike, listening to his favourite music or even trips to the cinema!
Qualifications
What you’ll need
Experience in healthcare or paediatric care, along with peg feeding; seizure management and knowledge of cerebral palsy is essential.
