The Role
Our pool of project managers will deliver a range of business and digital transformation projects ensuring all projects are efficiently managed and implemented. A key project will be the transformation of SONI to a separate independent business within the parent company in accordance with our licence. Projects are supported by business subject matter experts from across the business including operations, governance, finance, digital and data, people and place, networks and innovation and strategy and regulation.
You Will Be Responsible For:
1. Support and implement best practice programme management and governance across a range of SONI projects.
2. Maintain the appropriate governance and risk management activities for the project or programme in accordance with SONI policies and practices.
3. Plan and design projects with colleagues and business leads and subject matter experts and continuously monitor progress, proactively resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective action.
4. Support the management of project and programme budgets and benefits realisation.
5. Support the delivery of initiatives and projects by getting fully involved in analysis, process design, facilitating readiness activities and implementation.
6. Use analytical and problem-solving ability to maintain project standards and momentum.
7. Supporting excellent project and programme updates and communications and ensure a positive change and engagement experience for all stakeholders.
8. As a member of the transformation team, you will work with colleagues to continuously improve project and programme delivery methodology and tools.
Critical Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential Criteria
1. A degree or equivalent qualification and 2 years of relevant experience or at least 4 years’ relevant experience (relevant experience of business analysis and/or project management, project delivery).
2. Proven ability to identify, define and solve problems.
3. Effective communication skills with an emphasis on high quality reporting.
4. Experience in the use of MS applications such as SharePoint and Teams.
5. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build good working relationships and work collaboratively with multi-professional teams.
6. Highly organised, with the ability to coordinate and progress the activity of others.
Desirable Criteria
1. A project management qualification such as PRINCE 2, Agile certification, or similar.
2. Experience of working within energy/utility or a similar complex or regulated environment.
3. Experience of using a range of project management tools such as MS Project, DevOps, Trello.
