What youll do: Currently we are searching for a Chief Engineer Power Electronics for Power Electronics (PE) Center of Excellence (CoE). The PE CoE at Eaton is a catalyst for the companys growth, driving innovation through the creation of scalable, cost-effective, and manufacturable power electronics technology, platforms, and standardized design methodologies. These common building blocks can be adopted across various business units, laying a solid foundation for rapid product development. This individual will be responsible for offering technical leadership, shaping and steering major changes in projects or programs, and providing authoritative insight and decisions for projects or programs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Performs design, modeling, simulation, and implementation of power electronics solutions for power conversion and protection. Develops technical requirements and creates technical reports and presentations Owns technical leadership and collaborates with multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural globally distributed teams, providing technical direction. Guides and nurtures other PE engineers to enhance their technical skills and experience. Supports the development of PE CoE strategy, direction, and priorities. Assists the Global PE CoE director and Business Unit (BU) engineering leaders in crafting technology roadmaps, project pipelines, detailed project plans, and value propositions. Promotes engineering excellence in both the PE CoE and the BUs teams. Keeps abreast of the latest power electronics technologies and business trends, applies this knowledge to power conversion and protection, and identifies new opportunities. Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of relevant engineering experience in power electronics designs, product development, and qualification. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role. A proven track record of technical capability and leadership skills. Extensive knowledge of power electronics designs, including topology, analog/digital circuits, thermal management, and magnetics. Customer-oriented with excellent relationship-building skills. Capable of acquiring new skills, technical knowledge, products, or industry insights. Preferred Qualifications: Practical experience in power electronics designs and product development, with a special focus on safety-critical applications, including those in the aerospace industry. Knowledge of compliance standards, including Military (MIL) standards. Experience in navigating diverse cultural contexts, working with global customers and team members. Skills: Professional: Self-motivated and goal-oriented individual. Collaborative orientation, the ability to succeed in a highly team-oriented, global, and diverse environment.
