Job information Ysgol Gymraeg Ifor Hael is seeking to appoint a caring, hardworking, reliable and trustworthy individual to join our team to carry out cleaning, caretaking and premises maintenance duties at the school. We are looking for someone able to carry out the many tasks needed to keep the school and its ground safe, clean and welcoming to pupils, staff, parents and visitors. We require someone who is able to build strong professional relationships with staff and children whilst having ability to be flexible when the job requires. Some supervision of staff is required as is the ability and confidence to carry out testing of alarm systems, undertaking site specific checks, minor repairs and improvements or ensure safe working practices are followed by those coming onto site for more difficult jobs. You will have responsibility for the security of the school buildings and grounds at the beginning and end of day. You will also take a lead role in ensuring that the premises are maintained to a high standard, undertaking repairs and maintenance as is required. Experience in completing handyperson tasks is required, together with an understanding of health and safety procedures (training will be given in this area). Experience of working in a school or similar environment is desirable but not essential. (To start as soon as possible). Reporting to: The Headteacher Hours of Work: 32.5 hours with split shifts (7.00 - 9:30am and 2:15 – 6:15pm) plus some overtime on occasions to meet school needs and will be agreed in advance.
