Job Summary
This is a Clinical Fellow position responsible for the acute and elective care of patients at the surgical unit of Cleveland Clinic London. You should be competent in the assessment and initial management of acute surgical patients, and medical patients. You will be managing the day to day care of patients undergoing a variety of procedures. You will have direct daily supervision from the consultants working at CCL. This role is not just about providing high quality, world leading care, but CCL will also invest in your personal and professional development. An ideal candidate would have completed Foundation training and be eager and enthusiastic to learn, be part of a high function team and high reliability organization.
Job Responsibilities
1. Working as a part of the clinical fellow workforce covering an average fill of 25 beds of the acute surgical ward.
2. Working collaboratively with specialist consultants and nursing professionals to ensure that patients' treatment and care needs are met.
3. Being a part of the rolling rota covering a 24-7 acute service in the surgical unit.
4. Leading and assisting with new admissions and inpatient consultations, including morning and evening multidisciplinary ward rounds.
5. Proactively identifying patients who qualify for early mobilization, are at risk for decline or may have a longer length of stay.
Professional
Taking part in clinical governance, education, training and research to continuously improve and strive for excellence:
1. Participating in the regular in-house learning sessions and other educational activities as well as taking up educational responsibilities.
2. Adhering to the best practice guidelines, clinical audits, and governance.
3. Active involvement in clinical governance meetings, including but not limited to mortality review, safety event reporting, peer review, and other relevant activities.
4. Continual commitment, and participation in mandatory trainings, including Epic electronic medical record system.
Education
1. MBBS or equivalent.
2. Fully registered with the GMC and current license to practice.
3. Current UK visa or permission to work.
Languages

Certifications
1. MRCP, MRCS/FRCS or equivalent.
Competencies (Complexity of Work)
1. Ability to organise and prioritise clinical needs.
2. Evidence of the diagnostic skills, and clinical judgment.
3. Competent in the perioperative management of the surgical patients including the basic assessment, investigation and management.
4. Competent in routine clinical skills including venipuncture, blood cultures, arterial sampling, nasogastric tube and urethral catheters.
Work Experience
1. CMT / ST level or equivalent.
2. Perioperative management experience of post surgical patients.
