We are looking for maternity cover for a management accountant role for a 12 month fixed period.
Overview of the role:
As a Management Accountant, you will need to liaise closely with key internal and external stakeholders in order to achieve your objectives. As a key point of contact for the Business Unit’s Finance function, you will need to be approachable and knowledgeable and be able to advise and respond to queries in a professional and courteous manner. You will be comfortable with handling large data sets and manipulating these into easily digestible information for the wider business.
This role will provide the right candidate with the opportunity to work in a fast paced environment, with an emphasis on continuous improvement and the chance of future development opportunities.
This position will be key in delivering critical business information and data analysis to support business decisions as well as assisting the Assistant Financial Controller in reporting accurate and timely financial data in accordance with the Group Finance Calendar.
Your Responsibilities as a Management Accountant:
* Preparation of the JCB Attachments profit and loss and balance sheet forecast and provide support for the JCB Service forecast
* Preparation of monthly VAT returns and clear down of VAT accounts, liaising with VAT advisors to resolve queries and ensure timely monthly and quarterly submissions
* Assist with product mix analysis for month end, forecasting and budget
* Work with and support the pricing team with ongoing pricing decisions by ensuring their methods are correct and the impact on the P&L has been correctly calculated
* Support and oversee the accounts assistant with intercompany reconciliations and dispute resolutions
* Prepare monthly overhead data with variance analysis against budget and forecast
* Provide the business with daily Business Performance Summary analysis fielding key queries and monitoring against forecast
* Provide detailed breakdown on orders and profitability in order to drive business growth
* Monitor key cost of sales GL accounts providing PPV analysis and working with purchasing to ensure standard costs are correct within the system
* Monitoring of freight costs including developing and circulating freight reports to track costs and support business decisions
* Review processes to ensure they are streamlined and reduce manual processes where possible.
* Development of cashflow forecasting and reporting to Group
* Data management to ensure integrity of reporting
* Provide a point of escalation for any on stop suppliers and support in resolution
* Project manage key IT projects to drive continuous improvement
* Balance sheet control account reconciliations
* Assist in year-end audit procedures and documentation for the external auditors
About you:
We are ideally seeking candidates who are CIMA/ACCA (or other equivalent qualification) qualified. Previous experience of working within a Finance function is essential. You will have a high level of numeracy and be confident in using Microsoft Excel (Power Queries, Pivot Tables, SUMIFS, VLOOKUPS etc.). Previous experience in using SAP is essential.
We need someone who has the ability to work within an established team and has the ability to deliver continuous improvement – challenging the status quo, problem solving and actively looking to develop more efficient practices. You will have experience of working with high volumes and tight deadlines, with personal accountability to organise and prioritise your own workload, whilst demonstrating careful attention to detail and adhering to Group Accounting Policies.
