Rotherwood Education are looking to recruit a highly organised, flexible and enthusiastic person with good practical skills to assist a forward-thinking Design & Technology department in a Secondary school in the Haslingden area. This position is set to start ASAP, and it is full-time and ongoing until Easter with the potential to extend until July. The successful Design Technology Technician will: Working within the Product Design area (Resistant Materials and Woodwork), candidates will require confidence in using and maintaining a range of specialist tools and equipment. Experience of using a range of machinery including Pillar drills, Circular-saw, and Belt sanders is essential, along with the ability to use hand tools. You will also be able to follow Policies and Procedures to ensure safety and compliance within the department and be able to prepare materials for the workshop. A knowledge of CAD software (Techsoft) would be an advantage but training will be provided. Have previous experience in supporting Design Technology departments to KS3 and 4. Provide details of last 2 latest references, covering the last 5 years’ work history. Possess a current DBS check or be prepared to apply for one as part of your registration. Be committed to the safeguarding of children and young people. Be willing to complete a face-to-face registration and satisfy several checks.
