SW Locums require a Social Work Wales registered Social Worker with demonstrable UK experience in a similar statutory setting to work as a Principal Social Worker in the Enquiry and Assessment Team. You must have a minimum of 3 years post Qualification work experience within Children's assessment services.
Minimum Requirements
1. Professional Social Work qualification i.e. MA/Degree in Social Work or recognised predecessor equivalent e.g. CQSW, DipSW, CSS;
2. Right to work in the UK.
3. Enhanced DBS Issued within past 12 months or be registered with the DBS Update Service.
4. Complete the relevant post qualifying awards within a defined period.
5. Knowledge of assessment for care and support needs.
6. A sound understanding of the law relating to Adults/Children and Families.
7. Knowledge of child and adolescent development.
8. Knowledge of safeguarding procedures for children and adults at risk.
9. Knowledge of looked after children statutory guidance and processes.
Duties
1. Undertaking assessments in line with the Social Services and Well-being Act (Wales) 2014 with children, adults and their families/carers, identifying outcomes and where required developing care and support plans, which are monitored and reviewed.
2. Risks to children and adults are assessed and balanced in a way that promotes coproduction, independence and choice.
3. Strengths within the person's circumstances are identified and promoted.
4. Have a responsibility to plan and work within the financial resources which have been secured to deliver social care services within their area of accountability.
5. Social inclusion of isolated and vulnerable people is promoted; particularly networking with community and family resources.
6. Work in collaboration with other agencies adopting a multi-disciplinary approach where appropriate.
7. Ensuring that electronically held records, including case recordings, assessments, care and support plans and reviews are completed and/or updated in accordance with departmental policy and procedures.
