Job Title: Children Support Worker
Location: South Shields
Salary / Rate of Pay: £13
Contract type: 20 hr Part Time, plus optional additional overtime
Hours available: 8am-3pm Monday and Wednesday, and 10am-4pm on Saturday.

* Building strong, trusting relationships with the children and their families is crucial.
Role Specifics: We are looking for resilient, patient and empathetic individuals with experience in similar support roles. You should be proactive and confident in handling challenges, and able to be flexible in your approach to meet the unique needs of each child being supported.
Case 1:
Hours: 8am-3pm Monday and Wednesdays
Role Details: An exciting opportunity to become an integral part of a supportive learning environment, assisting a 13-year-old boy with a diagnosis of Autism in a bespoke educational setting. This role requires providing 2:1 support in a structured yet adaptable educational framework, alongside a teacher who joins the session for three hours each day. Your primary responsibility will be to foster a positive and interactive space where he can learn essential life skills along with English and Maths through personalised and creative teaching methods. The young boy is a cheerful individual, who has built up great relationships with his team. He does display behaviours of concern, full training is provided in the prevention and management of these behaviours. Patience, adaptability and a nurturing approach are key to helping him thrive and build confidence. You will play a significant role in empowering this young learner to progress academically and socially.
Case 2:
Hours: 10am-4pm on Saturday’s
Role Details: You would be working alongside likeminded support workers to support a family of 4 boys with Autism and complex needs in developing social, emotional and practical skills. This position involves guiding and encouraging them to participate in community activities that they enjoy, such as visiting parks, engaging in sports, or exploring local attractions. You will also provide essential in-home support, helping create a safe and fun environment that assist the family with daily routines and activities. Candidates would be prepared for varied and sometimes challenging behaviour and must be capable of adapting to different situations with a calm and professional demeanour. Building strong, trusting relationships with the children and their families is crucial for this role, ensuring that each child feels valued and supported.
It is essential to have a UK driving licence, your own transport and to be able to use your car for business purpose, as part of the role.
This position is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.
