Join the world of PepsiCo Supply Chain; our factory in Coventry is one of our biggest snacks manufacturing sites in the UK, producing a number of well-known brands including Doritos, SunBites, Squares, French Fries and Wotsits. It is a multi-technology plant with significant automation and is home to around 650 of our team. Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer – Shift Based (Coventry)
Position Summary:
Reports to: Maintenance Manager
Working Hours: Continental Shift pattern (4 on, 4 off) working 12-hour shifts. This will rotate between days (06:00-18:00) and nights (18:00-6:00) each block (average of 42 hours per week).

Main Accountability:
As a Shift Technician (ST), you will ensure the smooth running and maintenance of key production equipment using your specialist engineering knowledge whilst delivering optimum plant reliability through preventative maintenance and electrical testing, including fault finding and problem solving.
Responsibilities
* Provide technical expertise for Electrical and Mechanical maintenance of plant equipment whilst carrying out reactive and PPM using electrical, control system and mechanical engineering skill set.
* Perform scheduled maintenance (i.e. regular inspections and maintenance checks) and emergency repairs on a variety of machinery and equipment, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
* Diagnose faults using Root Cause Analysis techniques to identify underlying issues and implement effective corrective actions.
* Documentation of maintenance activities and updates in the SAP EAM system.
* Assist in the installation of new equipment and systems as required, ensuring all setups meet operational standards.
* Coaching and supporting the Manufacturing Technician (MT) group to develop their technical skills.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment.
* Collaborate with production teams to enhance processes and equipment reliability through continuous improvement initiatives.
* Activities will include Working at Height, Confined Spaces, Hot work, Fire investigation/Incident support.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
* Indentured time served Engineering Apprenticeship with NVQ Level 3 or HNC/HND or equivalent in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.
* Recognised Electrical (18th Edition) or Mechanical Certification; strong Electro-Mechanical aptitude is essential.
* Working knowledge and understanding of the principles of EAM SAP or equivalent CMMS applications.
* Proven experience in a multiskilled engineering role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
* Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
* Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical fault-finding techniques.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
* Strong team player who adopts a continuous improvement approach.
Preferred Qualifications:
* City & Guilds 2391 holder would be an advantage.
* Able to achieve Electrical Level 3 within approximately 6 months of joining PepsiCo (paid for by the company).
* Understanding of SCADA control systems.
* Working knowledge of PLC systems - Allen Bradley and/or Siemens an advantage.
* Experience of leading and coaching teams.
* Exposure and experience in Root Cause Analysis methodologies and tools.
