THE ROLE - HEALTH & SAFETY MANAGER
This is a high-impact, roaming role, responsible for overseeing health and safety across multiple live construction sites in London. The successful candidate will work closely with project teams to ensure full compliance with UK H&S regulations, drive best practices, and foster a proactive safety culture across all levels of the organisation.
Working on projects valued between £5m and £50m, this position offers an opportunity to be involved in a wide variety of schemes, from large-scale residential and commercial developments to complex public sector and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Health & Safety Compliance - Ensure all construction activities align with UK H&S legislation and industry best practices.
2. Site Safety Leadership - Conduct regular inspections, audits, and risk assessments across multiple sites, ensuring all teams adhere to the highest safety standards.
3. Accident Prevention & Incident Response - Lead root cause investigations, implement corrective actions, and drive a zero-tolerance approach to safety breaches.
4. RAMS & Method Statements - Review and approve Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS), ensuring all high-risk activities are meticulously planned and executed safely.
5. Subcontractor & Supply Chain Management - Ensure all supply chain partners adhere to the company's strict safety protocols, conducting audits and enforcing compliance where necessary.
6. Stakeholder Collaboration - Work closely with the directors, site managers, clients, and external bodies (HSE, local authorities, etc.) to ensure a fully aligned approach to safety.
7. Training & Development - Deliver on-site training, ensuring teams are well-equipped to maintain a safe working environment.
8. Continuous Improvement - Drive innovation in safety processes, implementing industry-leading safety initiatives and benchmarking against best practices.

REQUIREMENTS
1. Proven experience as a Health & Safety Manager within the construction industry.
2. Strong knowledge of UK H&S regulations.
3. Experience managing multiple construction sites, ideally on large-scale commercial, residential, or public sector projects.
4. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage at all levels, from site operatives to senior management.
5. Ability to implement, monitor, and drive safety improvements across multiple sites, ensuring compliance with the latest legislation.
