The Role We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our team at IMS. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately entering financial data and maintaining records in Xero (or similar systems). You will also manage credit control, chasing overdue invoices and statements to maintain healthy cash flow. Additionally, you'll engage with customers and suppliers to address payment queries and account issues. Your responsibilities will include performing daily bank and account reconciliations, monitoring cash flow, and ensuring efficient invoicing processes. The ideal candidate will have experience in accounting software, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and financial management. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks with precision are essential. Responsibilities: Data Entry & Accounting Systems: Accurately enter financial data and maintain records in Xero (or similar systems). Credit Control: Chase overdue invoices and statements to maintain healthy cash flow. Customer & Supplier Communication: Confidently engage with customers and suppliers regarding payments, queries, and account issues. Daily Reconciliations: Perform daily bank and account reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy. Cash Flow Management: Monitor and assist in forecasting cash flow to support financial planning. Account Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies. Invoicing: Process and manage invoices in a timely and efficient manner. What we’re looking for: Attention to Detail: Ability to accurately input and manage financial data with precision. Accounting Software Knowledge: Experience using Xero or similar accounting systems. Strong Communication Skills: Confident in engaging with customers and suppliers professionally. Credit Control Experience: Skilled in chasing invoices, statements, and managing overdue accounts. Financial Reconciliation Skills: Ability to perform daily reconciliations and resolve discrepancies. Cash Flow Awareness: Understanding of cash flow management and forecasting. Problem-Solving Ability: Capable of troubleshooting minor IT and system-related issues. Organisational Skills: Efficient at handling multiple tasks and meeting deadlines. Extra Credit: AAT or similar bookkeeping qualification to demonstrate accounting knowledge and competency.
