Regardless of experience level, you will take part in a comprehensive training program to ensure all staff work to the same high standard. You’ll be working in a residential children’s home with a fantastic reputation for excellence in care. You will support children with a range of needs, including autism, complex conditions, and emotional challenges. You will work in dorms that accommodate 2–8 children, alongside trained support workers, ensuring the smooth running of daily activities. Your Responsibilities: Support children in their morning and evening routines. Build strong, positive relationships and promote a structured daily routine. Assist in social development and vocational activities. Deliver sensory activities (full training provided). Promote positive interactions in the home. Be an emotionally available adult who is caring, understanding, and adaptable. Assist with cooking and encourage independence in daily tasks. Communicate with parents and senior staff to provide accurate updates on a child’s progress. Maintain accurate records and safeguarding logs. Participate in day trips and vocational activities such as shopping, rock climbing, and bowling. This is a hands-on role where you’ll create a safe, supportive, and fun environment for children. No two days are the same, making this an exciting and fulfilling opportunity Shift Patterns Available:3-Day Rolling Contract – Starting Salary: £30,000 Work a set shift pattern of 3 days on, 3 days off. Fixed schedule for better work-life balance. Typical shift: 07:00–22:00. Mixed Shift Pattern – Starting Salary: £24,000 Overtime Opportunities Traditional shift pattern with smaller blocks of hours. Set 3-week rota for easy planning. Early shift: 07:00–15:15 | Late shift: 14:00–22:00. Overtime available to boost earnings. About the Children’s Home: This children’s home has an outstanding reputation for delivering exceptional care. They offer state-of-the-art facilities, including specialist sensory rooms, therapy experts, forest school facilities, and an on-site farm to support social and emotional development. Training & Career Development: All new staff receive a thorough induction lasting at least a week, including introductions to the team and children. You’ll have the opportunity to gain various qualifications, such as specialist behavior training (Levels 1–3), therapy and sensory training, and fully funded additional certifications. There are clear progression opportunities, including senior roles with increased pay and responsibilities. Who Are We Looking For? We’re seeking compassionate, empathetic individuals who want to make a real difference. While relevant experience and qualifications are beneficial, what truly matters is your dedication and passion. Ideal Backgrounds Include: Experienced children support workers or individuals with experience in adult care. Nursing, ambulance service, prison service, or adult care. Sports coaching, teaching assistant roles, or youth work. Nursery nurses, public services, or mental health professionals. Valued Qualifications: Health and Social Care (Levels 1–3). Autism Awareness or SEND-related training. Coaching or childcare qualifications. Psychology, sociology, or counseling certifications.
