Non-Teaching Head of Year
Start date: As soon as possible
Location: Ark Alexandra Academy, Hastings, East Sussex
Salary: Ark Outside London Support Scale 9, Pay Points 25-32: £35,234 to £41,510
Hours: 8.00am – 5.00pm, 40 hours per week, term time only plus 2 extra weeks to be worked in the school holidays (41 weeks per year)
Contract: Permanent

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated person to join our non-teaching Head of Year pastoral team on a permanent contract. The successful candidate will be paid the full-time salary for working 8.00am – 5.00pm, 40 hours per week, for 41 weeks of the year.
As a Head of Year, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring outstanding standards of behaviour, attendance and the emotional wellbeing of all students in your year group. You will lead the culture and ethos of the academy to embed it in our students’ attitudes and behaviours. You will lead and implement programmes and events to develop the students’ self-regulation and emotional resilience. You will be unrelenting in our mission to provide every student, regardless of their background, with a great education and real choices in life.
Our standards are high, and we need someone who can be a team player and flexible when supporting other colleagues with the ability to be resilient, calm and professional under pressure.

As the ideal candidate you will:
* Have a proven track record of providing excellent pastoral support
* Be adaptable, organised and able to work on your own initiative
* Have experience leading excellent student attendance and behaviour (desirable)
* Be able to interpret data to inform student progress
* Understand the importance of confidentiality
* Be able to take ownership of tasks and complete to a high standard
* Be able to devise, implement and evaluate a variety of student programmes
* Have experience of effectively leading a team of tutors (desirable)
