We are a well-established service caring for children in the Bradford and Airedale district. Our base is St Luke's Hospital in Bradford, but a lot of our work is undertaken in the community at the family home, in education settings, on the 'Children and Young Persons Ward at the Bradford Royal Infirmary hospital or working alongside the local hospices - 'Martin House' in Boston Spa and 'Forget me not' in Huddersfield. The service aims to transform the lives of seriously-ill children, with life limiting or life threatening conditions, so they can live as fulfilling lives as possible, and get the very best care at the end of life. We endeavour to offer families a choice of place of care; a choice of place of death; and a choice of emotional and bereavement support. Main duties of the job As part of our team you will support families at diagnosis and throughout the child and families' journey, to make the most of every moment together. To come and join our team you will need to have a sound knowledge of symptom control, advanced communication and counselling skills, be able to work autonomously and take on new challenges. A current full UK / EU driving licence is essential in addition to access to a vehicle to carry out duties.
