We are looking for an Electrical Engineering Consultant to join our Rolling Stock Project Services Team to work with an industry respected group of specialist engineers and consultants providing project, technical, engineering, and commercial support to freight and passenger, metro, and light rail projects.
Our Rail Consulting business is proud to support and deliver some of the most prestigious rail projects across the UK. Working at all levels on some of the most significant rail projects such as HS2, Crossrail and the East Coast Digital Programme, providing strategic and technical advice to national and local government bodies, train leasing companies, financiers, train operators and manufacturers.
This is an opportunity for you to utilise your skills in a team comprised of experienced project and technical engineers and consultants from a variety of backgrounds including train manufacturing, service support and train and freight operating companies, and owning companies. The team also includes developing engineering and projects staff progressing from Graduate schemes, where you will be able to share your knowledge and experience to support in their growth potential.
Whilst familiarity with rolling stock is desired, it is not essential if you bring other relevant qualities to the role, gained either in other industries or other areas within the rail industry.
Your purpose:
To provide high quality electrical systems project and engineering rail consultancy services to clients across a range of requirements. Sometimes working alone but more often working within either a client or internal team, you will have the opportunity to lead and direct staff in a project environment, acting as a source of guidance and expertise to others across a wide range of service offerings.
What you can bring:
* Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire, collaborate, and engage effectively across small-to-medium sized teams.
* The ability to establish trusted relationships with clients and get satisfaction from meeting and exceeding client expectations.
* Commercial acumen and technical knowledge and be able to provide positive contribution to the developing and growth of the Rail Consulting Business.
* Possess a proactive and client-focused attitude towards delivery, with the ability to critically assess engineering projects varying levels of complexity to identify risks and opportunities.
* A level of project management and governance capabilities in an engineering environment to balance business and client needs.
* Possess knowledge, experience, and expertise in electrical systems with a history of delivery of technical engineered projects.
* A track record of developing self and others to deliver demonstrable results.
