Job Description
A knowledgeable and capable Manufacturing Engineer. The role holder will generate operations data within the appropriate factory system. This will be achieved through the accurate interpretation of Engineering design intent/information, generation and review of various possible options and the identification and documentation of the optimum method.
The purpose of Manufacturing Engineering is to develop, implement and govern capable methods of manufacture, assembly, disassembly and repair (including method of verification) which can meet customer and business requirements for Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring compliance to design intent.
As a Manufacturing Engineer you will:
1. Have significant involvement in key Manufacturing Engineering projects.
2. Use your knowledge and experience to guarantee delivery of Manufacturing Engineering outputs into Operations that ensure design intent can be met.
3. Advise, coach and lead other team members as part of your daily responsibilities.
Core Duties
1. Responsible for converting the Engineering Design intent into Manufacturing Engineering data (sometimes complex) for Manufacturing Operations use.
2. Responsible for timely completion of personal and team tasks using appropriate techniques.
3. Responsible for managing and developing staff in-line with appropriate performance management techniques and processes.
4. Responsible for identifying own development opportunities.
5. Where appropriate, checks and approves the Teams work ready for release to Manufacturing Operations.
6. Contribute to the management of the Quality and SHE Systems, for Manufacturing Engineering processes and documentation e.g. calling up safe methods of working.
7. Build effective internal and cross functional relationships in order to achieve overall Project requirements.
8. Identify the manpower and activities required to meet a set programme of work.
9. Assist in the deployment of the training & risk assessments associated with their Manufacturing Engineering subdiscipline.
10. Support justifications/business cases that seek to improve business performance, and thus provide optimised return on capital investment.
11. Assure product and process quality as determined by company processes. Develop and test new systems when the need arises.
12. Provide decision-making information by calculating production, labour, and material costs reviewing production schedules estimating future requirements.
13. Agree and prioritise with the customer, emergent work affecting manufacture, fabrication or construction.
14. Act as a project focal point for discipline specific tasks ensuring best practices are adopted and embedded.
15. Lead, develop, and motivate any reporting and assigned staff through good communications, open and honest management techniques, in keeping with the Company values, policies, & procedures.

Knowledge:
1. Excellent Communication skills
2. Experience in defining and managing Key Performance Indicators
3. Experience in performing route cause analysis and reporting on countermeasures

5. Professional knowledge of relevant Engineering standards (including SHE regulations)

Qualifications:
HNC or equivalent, plus substantial experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role OR Foundation degree with experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role.
