Job Description Do you have experience of providing protective security advice and high-level problem solving skills? If so we have an exciting opportunity for you join us as a Counter Terrorism Security Adviser (CTSA). The primary role of CTSAs is to provide help, advice and guidance on all aspects of counter terrorism protective security to specified industry sectors. In addition, CTSAs are responsible for the provision of protective security advice to crowded places (areas where there may be large crowds who could be vulnerable to terrorist attack) e.g. shopping centres, sporting stadiums, pubs and bars or transport hubs etc. CTSAs also work with local authorities and businesses to identify and assess sites that may be vulnerable to terrorist attack. They advise them, and organisations and professional bodies, about counter terrorism protective security guidance that should be incorporated into their general crime prevention plans, advice and guidance. CTSAs also deliver counter terrorism awareness packages tailored to different levels of expertise and responsibility within business. In This Role, Your Main Responsibilities Include Act as the focal point for CT protective security advice, both internally and externally, to enhance and improve the safety and security of all communities. Delivering protective security advice to crowded places, hazardous sites and sectors and other vulnerable locations identified either locally or by central government. Delivering presentations of findings to customers, covering security standards, business resilience and continuity. Support the National Protective Security Authority (NPSA) in both the protection of and response to critical sites. Promote awareness of the current terrorist threats and to resolve any security concerns through a ‘problem solving approach’. Deliver regular CTSA related presentations, exercises and training sessions to both internal and external audiences. Skills, Experience And Qualifications Required You must have communication and presentation skills that you can clearly evidence You will need to have good standard of computer literacy and experience of producing computer based or written reports to a deadline You must have experience of providing protective security advice You should have experience of providing high-level problem solving You have devised and delivered presentations and training You have experience of influencing and persuading stakeholders, using good negotiating and interpersonal skills We are seeking a fully qualified individual, however we will consider unqualified candidates on the basis that they will be required to become a fully accredited CTSA within two years of appointment to the post. On successful completion of an initial CTSA foundation course, ongoing training and practical work, the post holder will receive a Certificate of Occupational Competence. Failure to achieve the Certificate of Occupational Competence within two years could result in the termination of employment. This role benefits from a mix of home and office working, offering flexibility on working location.
