The Specialised Ability Centre at Sharston, Manchester is looking for an enthusiastic person to join the administrative team. The main duties of the post involve working predominantly with the Prosthetics team, liaising with Prosthetists, Doctors and Therapists regarding the assessment, ordering and provision of prosthetic limbs and devices.
There will be extensive telephone contact with patients and their carers, booking and scheduling appointments and supporting patient queries.
You will be joining a team who work under pressure and who deal with emotive issues for disabled adults & children. You will need excellent communication skills, tact and diplomacy, with the ability to work independently and will be committed to improve the patient experience. The post holder will use Rehapp, a bespoke patient administration system, to maintain patient records, making, cancelling and rescheduling clinical appointments, ensuring transport and interpreters are booked where necessary.
The post holder will record the repair and withdrawal of prosthetic limbs, monitoring patient waiting times in line with agreed key performance indicators.
Duties also include; supporting the management of patient travel expenses, recording transactions accurately. Liaising with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring relevant information is communicated in a timely manner. Daily monitoring of a generic email account, actioning incoming referrals and enquiries. Supporting other teams within the Specialised Ability Centre.
