Commercial Manager – Facilities Management PFI
Salary: up to £75,000 basic plus 20% bonus and car allowance/car
Location: Liverpool based - 1/2 days on site
We are working on behalf of a leading Facilities Management company to find an experienced Commercial Manager to join their dynamic team. This exciting opportunity will see you play a key role in supporting contract teams and collaborating with various support functions to deliver commercial solutions, as well as providing day-to-day commercial management support. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in managing risks and opportunities, identifying legal, financial, and commercial risks, and ensuring the application of best practices and internal governance policies.
Main Duties:
* Contractual Advice: Provide expert guidance to contract teams on queries and interpretations regarding contract terms, including liabilities, payment mechanisms, KPIs, scope, and specification requirements to drive efficiencies and reduce scope creep.
* Risk Management: Ensure the maintenance of risk and opportunity registers by account management teams, with clear action plans for each item.
* Support Functions: Assist account teams in managing risks and opportunities, ensuring effective oversight and resolution.
* Contract Variations: Provide support on contract variations and change orders, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and internal policies.
* Core Data Maintenance: Work with the Operations Director and Contract Manager to ensure accurate and up-to-date contract data.
* Issue Escalation: Prepare position papers and conduct commercial reviews for the escalation of major issues and risks.
* Documentation Review: Prepare and review contract documentation, supporting the submission of variation documentation.
* Process Improvement: Contribute to the development and enhancement of internal systems, processes, and procedures.
* Governance Adherence: Ensure appropriate governance for all documents requiring internal stakeholder sign-off and signature.
What We Are Looking For:
Essential Competencies:
* Significant experience in Commercial Contract Management.
* Expertise in Risk and Opportunity Management.
* Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills, with the ability to resolve complex issues.
* Proficient in managing KPIs and Payment Mechanisms.
* In-depth understanding of key contract provisions critical to managing contract risk profiles.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
* PFI experience (preferably within the healthcare, education, or defence sectors).
* Proven experience in managing challenging client relationships.
* Experience in defect management and dispute resolution.
* Competency in negotiating or supporting settlement agreements.
* Familiarity with drafting and reviewing variation documents, including sub-contract agreements.
