The Job Purpose
Reporting to the Toolroom Section Leaders across both shifts, the primary role is to maintain all FMUK’s production press tooling from SOP through to end of production life. This involves the efficient conduct of repairs, maintenance (TPM), and modification using general toolmaking and welding techniques within a well-equipped tooling department.
General use of machine tools to manufacture parts which may be required to enable the successful repair of the press tooling or for other machines in different areas of business. Supporting press shop call outs when problems arise during production and tooling manufacture when the department has the capacity to do so.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
1. Maintaining, repairing and modifying of press tools and auxiliary equipment to produce quality products
2. Using all tool room machinery
3. Manufacture tooling and parts for the business if required
4. Modify and check fixtures and repair when necessary
5. To support and offer technical advice to the press shop and other disciplines within the business.
6. Conduct improvements on new tooling
7. To assist with performing risk assessments to ensure a safe working environment
8. Upkeep 5s within the toolroom
9. To assist and support apprentices throughout their apprenticeships
10. Conduct maintenance of all machine tools
11. FLT and overhead crane movement of press tools
12. Work from an organised task list daily and have the ability to react to any production emergency
13. Health and safety awareness
14. Communicate with our partners to support sub-contracting on some work when necessary
15. Use company vehicle to deliver parts for sub-contract work
16. Work closely with projects team

9. ONC/HNC Manufacturing Engineering
10. Can confidently use Office 365 with SharePoint
Working Hours:
Days/Backs by weekly rotating shift:
Dayshift: Mon to Thurs - 07:00am - 15:00pm / Fridays only - 07:00am - 12:00pm
Backshift: Mon to Thurs - 14:30pm - 22:30pm / Fridays only - 11:30am - 16:30pm
Shift allowance % : Additional 7.5 hours paid on back shift working weeks only
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
