Job Description
The key responsibilities for the Data Manager Role are:
* Manage and develop the school's MIS, ensuring data accuracy and security.
* Act as the MIS Super User, providing training and support to staff.
* Oversee data collection, maintenance, and reporting to meet school and trust-wide needs.
* Ensure compliance with statutory reporting deadlines, such as school census submissions.
* Support the Assistant Headteacher with curriculum planning and timetable creation.
* Manage assessment data, including performance tracking, student reports, and key performance indicators.
* Ensure alignment of student records, including SEN, Pupil Premium, and KS2 data.
* Develop school management reports and contribute to data-driven decision-making.
* Collaborate with IT colleagues to ensure MIS-related software is maintained and up to date.
* Support data protection compliance and ensure best practices in data management.
* Represent the school in trust-wide data networks, sharing best practices and insights
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate for the Data Manager Role is someone with the following:
* Experience in data management, ideally within an educational setting.
* Strong knowledge of school MIS systems, preferably Arbor, SIMS, or similar platforms.
* Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to train and support colleagues in the use of MIS platforms.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
* Knowledge of statutory data reporting requirements for schools.
* Proficiency in data analysis tools and reporting software.
* Understanding of data protection regulations and compliance.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
