A DAY IN THE LIFE of a Maintenance Manager at Hampton by Hilton London Waterloo
What you'll be doing...
Reporting to the Hotel Manager and General Manager, you can expect your working day to include the following
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
You are ultimately responsible for all maintenance issues within the hotel, performing maintenance checks, and overseeing the engineering team to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience.
You will be required to manage and develop emergency programs and take on special projects as assigned. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
Responsible for maintaining the hotel's statutory requirements and ensuring the hotel has all checks and services done on time. e.g. legionella, annual fire service, boiler checks, gas checks etc.
Perform daily checks/walk around the hotel
Conduct emergency training e.g. Lift, Evac chair, 3-month and 6-month Fire training etc.
Diagnose, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment within the hotel
Ensure good relationships are built with internal and external contractors.
Maintenance of all hotel fixtures and fittings to ensure they are in safe condition and take action when any unsafe situations arise. Innovate and look at energy-efficient options. Manage quotes and raise POs accordingly.
Develop, implement, and direct all emergency programs and training.
Develop, implement and manage energy conservation programs for the property to minimise expenses.
Define the cost and scope of various projects and oversee the general contractor and subcontractors to ensure quality work is performed cost-effectively.
Responsible for the health and safety of the hotel.
Ensure monthly safety inspections take place and lead the energy-saving efforts within the hotel
Recruit, train, and develop the maintenance team, providing coaching and conducting performance reviews.
Conduct and supervise weekly fire alarm checks including all accessible area alarms, refuge points, deaf guard, audibility tests etc.
Ensure workshop area is organised and well stocked
The area around compactor and backyard is clear and free from any waste and fire exits remain accessible at all times.
Draw a preventative maintenance plan periodically and assign team members deadlines .
To succeed in the role ofa Maintenance Manager, you will need the following qualities and skills.
Advanced knowledge of building management/engineering
Team management and team development skills.

Good communication skills
Committed to delivering a high level of customer service
Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations
Ability to work under pressure
Ability to work on their own
Previous experience in facilities/maintenance management
Hotel experience essential
