Job Responsibilities:
* Preparation of Materials: Assist in the preparation and organisation of materials and resources for art and textiles lessons.
* Classroom Support: Provide in-class support to teachers during practical lessons, ensuring students have the materials and assistance they need.
* Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and organise equipment, ensuring all tools and machines are in safe, working condition.
* Resource Management: Manage stock levels, order new supplies, and ensure that the department is well-equipped.
* Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure that all health and safety guidelines are followed, and conduct regular risk assessments.
* Administrative Duties: Assist with administrative tasks such as record-keeping, managing displays of students' work, and supporting departmental projects.
* Student Assistance: Support students with their projects, offering technical advice and guidance on techniques and materials.
Requirements:
* Previous experience as a technician in a school setting, preferably within an art and textiles department.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Practical knowledge of art and textile techniques, materials, and equipment.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students and staff.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
