We’re looking to develop a new member of our Community Roots team through our Apprentice Health and Wellbeing role. If you have a passion for community, wellbeing and connection this may be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.
The Community Roots service develops alongside communities, designing and delivering opportunities that promote wellbeing, as well as health prevention and recovery. Working side-by-side with experts by experience and professionals by experience, we co-produce learning and social opportunities that support people to lead the lives they want across Lancashire and South Cumbria.
Applications are encouraged from individuals with demonstrable lived experience of accessing mental or physical health care services in line with our Peer workforce ambitions.
It is a mandatory element of this role that you undertake the 15 month apprenticeship course, including the End Point Assessment and attend all essential provider training sessions. The course will be delivered virtually and failure to progress as necessary on the course could result in the termination of your post.

Hours/ Sessions per week:37.5 Hours per week
In order to be enrolled on this apprenticeship course you must provide evidence of Maths and English Qualifications before interview.
• Answer telephone, email and face to face enquiries, taking and forwarding messages, ensuring that all telephone and personal callers receive a prompt, courteous, non-judgmental and well-informed response.
• Undertake the Apprenticeship course with the training provider, and complete all necessary review stages.
• Work with your mentor and tutor to ensure successful completion of the Apprenticeship EPA.
• Respond to queries, dealing with routine matters and passing more complex queries to the appropriate member of staff.
• Support individuals and groups to access wellbeing opportunities.
• Co-produce and co-deliver wellbeing opportunities.
• Contribute to administrative functions of learning development and deliveries, to inform data collection and feedback.
• Attend and participate in team meetings as required as part of the smooth running of the service.
• Contribute to the development of social media and marketing projects as requested.
• Develop posters, leaflets and social media imagery to raise awareness of events and opportunities.
• Work alongside partners to co-develop and support the delivery of learning opportunities.
• Work alongside service users, staff, wider community to inform the development of opportunities across localities.
• Undertake promotional activities alone or with colleagues, to raise awareness and uptake to Community Roots opportunities
Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including secondary mental health care across this area. Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.
The Trust also provides a range of physical health and well-being services in the community alongside a range of partners in the Lancashire, Cumbria and Sefton area.

Please be advised if you are a ‘Non-UK National’ applicant you must meet the eligibility criteria and fulfil the settlement requirements of the apprenticeship course funding. Your settlement status will need to be verified as eligible for funding by the relevant apprenticeship provider in order for you to formally enrol on the course.
The training provider will require evidence of:
• Full time residency in the UK for 3 consecutive years or more prior to the course start date (unless otherwise exempt from this rule – for example you hold refugee status – use the link below to see full list of exemptions).
• Residency to live and work in the UK for at least 1 year from the apprenticeship start date and must cover the entire course duration including the EPA period.
