We are seeking a passionate, motivated, and experienced Deputy Manager to join our vibrant and supportive nursery team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is committed to providing high-quality childcare and education while fostering a positive and nurturing environment for children, staff, and families.
As Deputy Manager, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day running of the nursery and its ongoing success. You will work closely with the Nursery Manager to ensure that children thrive, staff are supported, and parents feel confident in the care and learning opportunities we provide.
Key Responsibilities:
* Leadership and Team Support: Lead and inspire the nursery team across Baby, Toddler, and Pre-School rooms.
* Practice Leadership: Ensure practices align with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), maintaining high standards of care and education.
* Mentorship: Support, mentor, and guide practitioners to develop their skills and confidence.
* Safeguarding: Model exemplary safeguarding practices, creating a safe and supportive environment for all children.
* Team Wellbeing: Foster high staff morale and a positive team culture.
* Parental Partnerships: Build strong, positive relationships with parents, supporting them as key partners in their children’s learning.
* Operational Excellence: Oversee nursery operations to ensure smooth day-to-day running, including staffing, organisation, and compliance with policies.
* Ethos and Values: Uphold and promote the ethos, mission, and values of the nursery, ensuring these are reflected in every aspect of service delivery.
Qualifications and Experience:
To excel in this role, you will need:
* An qualification in Early Years or equivalent.
* Experience and confidence in safeguarding practices.
* A strong understanding of the SENCO role(preferred).
* Excellent communication skills to engage with children, families, and staff.
* Leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
* A thorough understanding of the EYFS and how to deliver it effectively.
* Strong organisational skills to manage daily responsibilities efficiently.
* A current DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
