Job summary As a Mental Health Tobacco Dependency Practitioner, you will be an integral part of Smoking Cessation in the acute setting, ensuring a medical model of care for tobacco dependency is an integrated part of routine client care by all health professionals. Ultimately this programme will lead to the most significant referral route for the overall smoking cessation service within the borough. Main duties of the job You will be a motivated, passionate, organised, and proactive individual with experience in smoking cessation / tobacco dependency. This role will be demanding as the programme develops and becomes integrated as part of routine clinical care. It will be essential that you use your own judgement to prioritise competing demands and workload effectively to specific timescales. To build relationships with relevant community personnel to ensure own expertise is utilised to influence evidence base practice is embedded and governed by organisational protocols. Maintain own knowledge of evidence-based methods and integrate new research into own practice Provide tobacco dependency and cessation advice and training, where appropriate to staff at all levels. Contribute to service reviews and write reports where applicable. Participate in audits and research and ensure service standards are maintained Maintain accurate and confidential client records including follow up, including the quality of care also ensuring compliance with information governance. Take part in promotional events in the relevant community settings, for example, No Smoking Day. Write reports as required.
