We’re transforming the way we work in E&M and Property Services at Scottish Water - creating a more dynamic, efficient, and effective operations. And this role? It’s right at the heart of that transformation.
This is your chance to be part of something bigger – shaping the future of our services, leading from the front, and making a real difference every day.
Sound good? We’re looking for three Operations Team Leaders to join our E&M Service Delivery team, with opportunities available across Scotland.
What you'll be doing
You’ll be at the heart of keeping Scotland’s water flowing – quite literally. You’ll be leading a skilled, multifunctional craft team, providing Electrical, Mechanical and Field Automation support across Scottish Water’s operational sites.
You’ll own performance, people and processes, making sure your team delivers top-notch service while running an efficient and effective operation. From managing budgets and tackling operational challenges to developing your team, you’ll be the driving force behind it all.
Safety comes first – always. You’ll lead the way on health, safety and wellbeing initiatives, championing improvements that not only protect your team but set the standard for the wider E&M community.
Your work will make a real impact – boosting business performance, exceeding customer expectations, and keeping regulators happy. And you won’t be doing it alone. You’ll work closely with operational teams, building strong relationships and strengthening the E&M service.
What you’ll bring:
First and foremost, you’re a people person – a natural leader who knows how to build, support and develop a high-performing team through coaching, delegation and support.
You’re great at bringing people together and working with a wide range of stakeholders, building strong relationships and keeping everyone aligned. Your communication skills are spot on – whether you’re engaging with frontline teams or senior stakeholders, you can break down complex information in a way that makes sense.
You keep things moving and make smart decisions, even in a fast-paced, high-demand environment. You can take in information, analyse it, and make the right call when it matters.
Tech-savy? Even better. You’ll need solid Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills. Familiarity with Ellipse, Salesforce and Take 5 would be a plus – but if you’re a quick learner, we’ve got you covered.
A solid understanding of Electrical and Mechanical systems, and how they fit into water and waste water processes, would definitely help. Leadership experience? Even better! That’ll be invaluable as you step into this role.
And last but not least – you’ll need a full, current driving licence for this role.
Looking out for you
While the work we do is important, we know it’s not the only thing that matters. That’s why we make sure you have everything you need to find a good work-life balance.
This is a full time (35 hours per week) role, Monday to Friday. But you’ll get plenty of time to recharge with 38 days of holiday every year (including public holidays). And you can even buy five more if you need a little extra time. You can also take paid time off to volunteer in your community.
When it comes to major life events we have family-friendly policies around adoption, maternity, and parental leave. And for the everyday? We embrace flexible working.
For your future, there’s our pension (the ‘know-what-you’ll-get-when-you-retire’ kind), as well as life assurance.
As for some nice extras? You can expect an annual company bonus. Not to mention access to SW Splash – handy rewards that can save you money on holidays, bills, and shopping.
