Clinical Associate Non-Executive Director
University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is a large NHS teaching trust, a national and regional centre for specialist treatment, a renowned biomedical research facility and the local hospital for communities in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. Our services are provided from three acute hospital sites, seven community hospitals, in peoples' homes and virtually. We employ more than 18,000 people from over 70 different nationalities, making us the largest employer in the city and one of the largest in the region. We have an international reputation for research excellence and together with University of Leicester, Loughborough University and De Montfort University we provide world-class training. We work actively with local health and social care partners, local authority, voluntary, community and charitable sectors to improve health outcomes, foster economic and social development and reduce health inequalities.
We are a complex organisation on a significant transformation journey. These are exciting opportunities as we seek two new Non-Executive Directors and a new Associate Non-Executive Director to join our Board. We have made significant progress in our improvement, have a strong and experienced Board in place, and are delivering on our ambitious strategy: 'Leading in healthcare, trusted in communities'. Our Chair and Chief Executive are shared with Trusts in both Northampton and Kettering allowing us to share resource and best practice that will lead to better outcomes and experience for all our patients and staff.
We are seeking inclusive and independent board level leaders who act with compassion and pride; promoting fairness and equity. For one of the Non-Executive roles we are seeking an individual with strong financial acumen who can chair our finance and investment committee; for the second Non-Executive role we are interested in a leader with expertise in operational performance and transformation; someone with insight into how the NHS functions. Digital transformation experience and a connection to our communities would be valuable in either role. For the Associate Non-Executive Director we are seeking a clinical leader with a clear focus and commitment to patient safety and experience.
For all roles clear communication skills will be critical and you will quickly build credibility through your proven track record gained in complex organisational settings in either the public or private sector. Your genuine commitment to high quality patient care and understanding of our diverse communities will be evident. These are exceptional opportunities for you to positively impact on the experience, wellbeing and outcomes of our patients, staff, stakeholders and communities.
We warmly encourage applications from people with protected characteristics that are underrepresented on our Board. We are committed to ensuring that our Board reflects the populations we serve and we value highly the lived experience of all our Board members.
