Job description Registered Manager – Children's Residential Home Location: Bridgwater, Somerset (10 mins from J23 or J24, M5) Salary: £45K - £52K DOE Home Rating: Requires Improvement Lead, Inspire, and Make a Difference in Bridgwater An experienced and motivated Registered Manager is required to lead a two-bed Ofsted-registered home in Bridgwater, Somerset. This role offers the opportunity to drive improvement, build on a strong foundation, and provide high-quality care for children and young people. The Home in Bridgwater A modern, welcoming property in a quiet residential area of Bridgwater, Somerset, with supportive neighbours and on-site parking. The home currently supports two settled young people, both aged 15 and engaged in education. A stable and committed workforce, including senior support workers, support workers, and bank staff, is in place. Key Responsibilities Lead and develop a team to provide a nurturing and stable environment. Ensure the home in Bridgwater meets and exceeds all Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Ofsted Quality Standards. Oversee care planning, striving for the best outcomes for young people. Manage safeguarding in line with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Build and maintain relationships with external agencies, advocating effectively where required. Oversee rota management, staff development, budgets, administration, and reporting. Recognise and celebrate milestones for both young people and the team. Requirements Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Registered Manager in a children’s residential setting within the last 5 years. Relevant Qualifications – Level 3/4 in Children & Young People (essential) and working towards or completed Level 5 in Leadership & Management. Strong understanding of safeguarding, regulatory frameworks, and quality standards. Confident leadership skills with the ability to drive improvement and maintain a high standard of care.
