Job Title: Inspector

Salary: £27k-33k + Shift Allowance

Hours: 16:30 - 02:30, Mon to Thu
A prominent aerospace engineering company located in Alcester is currently seeking an experienced CMM Inspector to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled individual to work within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, ensuring product quality and conformance through the use of CMM equipment and other inspection methods.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform 1st-off, receipt, and manual inspections, including CMM and calibration activities.
2. Operate CMM programmes, analyse results, and make quality decisions based on findings.
3. Maintain the integrity and accuracy of CMM programmes, ensuring they are properly stored and up to date.
4. Support the internal non-conformance process by raising rejects and implementing containment actions.
5. Work closely with Engineering to facilitate the smooth introduction of new products (New Product Introduction).
6. Complete FAIR packs using both CMM and manual inspection methods.
General Duties:
1. Ensure compliance with all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations.
2. Thoroughly review Job Cards and related documentation to carry out operations effectively.
3. Use all necessary measuring equipment to verify product conformance as per Inspection Plans.
4. Conduct in-process inspections to ensure components meet requirements before advancing to the next stage.
5. Identify and report non-conforming components following company procedures.
6. Accurately log work progress within the MRP system to maintain up-to-date records of work-in-progress (WIP).
7. Adhere to work handling and storage guidelines to prevent damage to components.
8. Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to prevent non-conformance recurrence.
9. Perform TPM activities as per scheduled maintenance plans.
10. Maintain a clean and organised work area in line with 5S requirements.
Key Qualifications and Skills:
1. Previous experience operating CMM equipment in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
2. Strong understanding of quality control processes and non-conformance procedures.
3. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and use precision measuring equipment.
4. Familiarity with New Product Introduction (NPI) processes is a plus.
5. Proficiency in MRP systems for work booking and WIP tracking.
6. A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
