Position: Full-time, seasonal, non-exempt
Salary & Benefits: Starting at $15.50 – $19 per hour based on skills & experience, plus participation in the Staff Appreciation Fund bonus program. Includes free lodging & meals at Great Camp Sagamore if desired; paid sick leave; participation in Sagamore’s SIMPLE retirement plan after 1 season.

About Great Camp Sagamore
Great Camp Sagamore is a National Historic Landmark and is one of the first of the nationally renowned Great Camps of the Adirondacks. Located in one of the most remote areas of the Adirondack Park, Sagamore is today an educational private, non-profit institution dedicated to stewarding Great Camp Sagamore as a welcoming place for educational and recreational programs and fostering connections to history, nature, and community.
Sagamore welcomes guests from late May through late October and on two separate days during the winter. Guests come from around the world to take our tours, participate in overnight and day experiences, attend conferences, get married, host family reunions, and enjoy concerts.

Position Overview
Great Camp Sagamore seeks a positive, service-oriented person to assist guests in day-to-day interactions, perform routine office tasks, and support organization and communication among departments. This position is vital to guest satisfaction and the smooth operation of the camp. Therefore, it is appropriate for a candidate with previous customer service experience, a positive attitude, and a willingness and ability to be flexible. This position reports to the Operations Manager and coordinates with the Store Manager and Finance Manager.
This full-time, seasonal, non-exempt, hourly position runs from late May through mid-October, 2025. The standard work schedule is a 40-hour week consisting of 8-10 hour days, 4-5 days per week. Days off are arranged so that employees have 2-3 days off. Compensation includes room and board in our historic rooms and full use of recreational facilities.
Minimum Requirements
Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, and/or a degree in hospitality or a related field are preferred but not required. Recent graduates, retirees, and anyone with proper qualifications are encouraged to apply.

5. Strong, professional communication skills, especially when interacting with guests over the phone, via email, or in person
6. Strong computer skills, including Google Drive, Docs, and Sheets
7. Experience with online platforms such as Square, Cloudbeds, and FareHarbor is preferred but not required
Physical Requirements
1. Ability to lift and carry 20lbs
2. Ability to walk up and down 2 flights of stairs
3. Ability to traverse gravel roads/paths and uneven terrain at least ½ mile per day
During the season, all meals and onsite housing are provided by Great Camp Sagamore. Staff have full use of the camp’s amenities, including the Boat House, and receive a discount in the Gift Shop. Staff members’ friends and extended family members may enjoy tours, meals, and overnight accommodations at reduced costs.
